What's the difference between EV, Plug-In & Hybrid vehicles?
EV
An EV (Electric Vehicle) runs 100% on electricity. Has a big battery that is charged by plugging the car into a home or public charger. Cheapest on gas and maintenance and has zero tailpipe emissions. Great for daily driving, but can be less ideal for frequent long road trips depending on public charge locations in your area.
Plug-in Hybrid
Like a regular hybrid but has a bigger battery that you can charge with a plug. Takes both gas and electricity as fuel. It will run on pure electricity until the battery is depleted, and then switch to gas. Best for people that want to plug-in for daily use, and use gas for frequent long road trips.
Hybrid
Just like a gas vehicle but with better fuel efficiency — runs on gas, no charging needed. Has a small onboard battery that is charged by regenerative braking and the gas engine.
